Kanu had a breakout sophomore season as a starter on the backline...extremely quick player...handles the ball well...strong technically...invited to a U.S. Under-21 National team camp in April 2007.

Chosen honorable mention All-Pac-10 and honorable mention Pac-10 All-Academic...started 19 of the 20 games she played in...posted the game-winning assist in a 1-0 triumph over No. 4 Santa Clara. 2005: Played in six games, including one start against Oregon State...assisted on Cal's goal in a 2-1 loss to Florida State in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL:
Two-time all-league pick in addition to earning league MVP honors in 2004 at Foothill HS...led her school to the North Coast Section title in 2004...propelled the Pleasant Rage to three California North State Cup titles from 2003-05, a regional final in 2003 and the regional semifinals in 2004 and 2005...won league and NCS titles in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 4x100 meter relay for her high school track and field team...named Rookie of the Year for her track and field team in 2001-02...member of the National Society of High School Scholars from 2002-04...interned twice at NASA in Mountain View...business administration major...parents are Oji and Gloria Kanu...both of her parents are engineers...born Dec. 11, 1987, in San Jose.
