Ever wonder what it takes to be a gymnast? How hard a college gymnast trains? How to perfect your vault? Here is your chance to ask some of the best gymnasts in the country! The California women's gymnastics team is excited to launch the "Ask a Gymnast" feature on www.CalBears.com. Each week two selected gymnasts will answer your questions. You can find the answers on www.CalBears.com.
LAST QUESTION:
Jeff Eisenman from Concord asks:
How many hours a week do you practice?
Siobhan Luce:
In general, NCAA rules mandate that we practice no more than 20 hours every week. During the preseason (the fall semester), this means we spend the 20 hours training, conditioning, doing cardio, weight lifting and occasionally we meet with our sports psychologist to work on team-building activities. During the season, when we are traveling and competing, we have more down time so we don't usually train the full 20 hours, but we still have regular practices, conditioning, cardio etc.
Submit your questions here or at the drop box at home meets at Haas Pavilion. Make sure to submit your questions by Sunday evening!
You will be returned to the Cal gymnastics home page after submitting your question.
