Greif Named Second-Team Pac-10 All-Academic

March 27, 2008

BERKELEY, Calif. - California sophomore guard Lauren Greif has been selected second-team Pac-10 All-Academic for the 2007-08 season. Greif was also named to Sports Illustrated's All-Brainiac team last week.

Greif started all 34 games for the Golden Bears this season, averaging 5.9 ppg and 4.2 rpg. The Portland, Ore., native was second on the team in three-pointers made (35) and three-point percentage (35.7%).

Greif registered four double-digit scoring games this season, including a season-high 17 points in Cal's 99-44 victory over Washington State Dec. 30, 2007. She also paced the Bears with a career-high 10 rebounds at then-No. 3 Rutgers.

Greif has started all 66 games in her career and ranks 10th in Cal career history with 83 three-pointers made.

To be eligible for selection to the Pac-10 academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
