It has been so long since I last wrote that I barely know where to begin because so much has happened! I think I'll start with NCAA championships. This was the meet that the team had prepared all year for and it was what drove us to make it through countless tiresome practices. Our goal all year was to win the team title and that goal was always in the back of our minds whether we were practicing, conditioning, or even studying.

I can honestly say that we did everything we possibly could to attain that goal. While it is unfortunate that we fell short of winning the title, I am still extremely proud of last year's team. The effort the team gave was unmatched by previous teams. I personally could not have been happier with everyone's work ethic, dedication, and overall attitude in the gym. I have no regrets and that is what matters in the end and I hope the rest of the team would agree with me.

After the team championships, Colin Christ, Kyson Bunthuwong, Tyler Block and I competed in the individual championships. Colin earned yet another All-America honor so congratulations to him! I also had a successful day. I won the pommel horse and the parallel bars which brought me to five NCAA titles. Not a bad way to finish my NCAA career!

After NCAAs, I took about a week off and then started preparing for US Championships. This meet is used to pick 14 athletes to make up the U.S. National Team and then those 14 advance to the Olympic Trials. I didn't compete very well the first day of the competition and I knew going in to the second day of competition that I had to be much better if I was to be one of the 14 athletes advancing. Fortunately for me, I did just that. I had the meet of my life and was named to the US National Team! You can read more on that in my next blog entry…go Bears!
