Oct. 9, 2006

BERKELEY - The Oct. 21st California football game against Washington will be televised live on Fox Sports Net. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. from Memorial Stadium. This weekend's Pac-10 road game at Washington State will kickoff at 2 p.m. It will not be televised, but it can be heard on the stations of the Golden Bear Radio Network.

Cal Athletics and its local television partner, Comcast Sports Net, explored the possibility of televising this weekend's game, but due to Washington State's contractual restrictions for broadcasts within the state of Washington, the game will not be televised.

Last Saturday's Oregon game was Cal's first as part of the ESPN on ABC Saturday night package. It is the fifth different network to televise the Bears this year (Tennessee was on ESPN, Minnesota on TBS, Portland State on Comcast Sports and Arizona State on Fox Sports Net). In addition, UCLA (ABC), USC (ABC) and Stanford (Fox Sports Net) will be televised. Television options for Arizona have not been finalized.
