Candidate for the Ray Guy Award for the top punter in the nation ... went from being a relative unknown to earning all-conference recognition in his first season in Berkeley ... rated as the No. 3 senior NFL prospect at punter by Mel Kiper ... Cal led the Pac-10 and ranked eighth in the nation in net punting (38.3) ... his average yards per punt (42.6) ranked third in the Pac-10 and was the sixth-best average in school history ... just 19 of his high-arching punts were returned for only 132 yards (6.9 yards per return) ... also had just four touchbacks in 49 punts, while 16 were downed inside the 20 and 16 were fair caught ... career day against Stanford, punting three times for an average of 52.7 yards per punt, including a career-long 72-yarder.
