Relay for Life - Ran in a marathon to raise money for cancer awareness, prevention and research
Berkeley Project - Participated in a city works project (in Berkeley) helping clean up parts of Berkeley
Read Across America - Has been involved with this project for four years at Buena Vista Elementary School in Walnut Creek.
Volunteering at John Muir Hospital - Has volunteered his time and efforts to visiting children in the hospital and providing Cal merchandise and autographs
Surf Riders Foundation - Volunteers his time to raise money to help clean up California's public beaches
Berkeley Free Clinic - Volunteered services at the Berkeley Free Clinic with fundraising and awareness
Katie's Fund - Spent a significant amount of time with this group based in Santa Barbara that is about helping children with mental disabilities. Katie's Fund was started in July 2003 in memory of Katie Janeway, a 14-year-old with developmental disabilities who died tragically while attending camp in 2002. Its purpose is to provide teens with developmental disabilities the opportunity to engage in social and recreational activities in an integrated, safe, and supportive environment. The teens in the program have helped to develop it around their interests. The program was an immediate success and has been growing ever since!
Other Involvement - SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Committee) - collaboration of student-athletes representing all intercollegiate teams competing for the University of California, Berkeley. The mission of Bear SAAC is to: Bring the student-athlete community together by bridging the gap between all athletes; provide feedback to the athletic administration on proposed conference and NCAA legislation; foster student-athlete welfare and create relationships between student-athletes and the community by organizing community service efforts and raising funds for various causes.
