BERKELEY, CALIF. - The California Golden Bears varsity eight boat defeated Wisconsin for the third consecutive year in a dual race at Redwood Shores, Sunday morning. The freshman eight also defeated the Badgers, but the second varsity eight lost their race.

The Cal varsity eight began the race with a two second lead at the 500 meter mark and never let up, eventually finishing seven seconds ahead of the Badgers. The Cal freshman eight opened up a five second lead after just 500 meters and cruised to a 22 second win.

Cal next races against Stanford, Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Redwood Shores. The Bears have defeated the Cardinal sixteen consecutive years, dating back to 1991.
