A talented switch-hitting infielder who is vying for playing time in the Bears' middle infield as a true freshman...is the son of former Cal standout (1981-83) and professional baseball player Brian Guinn...was drafted in the 10th round by the Chicago White Sox in the June 2007 Major League Amateur Draft.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: At Berkeley High School was ACCAL first-team all-league, a member of the Milwaukee Brewers Area Code team, and was named one of the area's Top 100 athletes (baseball/basketball) by the Contra Costa Times...as a senior batted .428 with four doubles, nine triples, a home run and 17 stolen bases...during his junior season, batted .340 with nine doubles, two triples, two home runs, 16 RBI and 17 stolen bases in league play...as a sophomore in 2005, was first-team all-league, a member of the Alhambra Easter All-Tournament team...was a multiple recipient of the North Coast Section Student-Athlete Award (3.5 GPA or higher)...majoring in landscape architecture...father, Brian, Sr., was in the Oakland A's, Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox organizations...mother, Wendy, also attended Cal...parents are Brian and Wendy Guinn...born April 4, 1989 in Berkeley, Calif.
