Reporting directly to the Associate Athletic Director, Development, the Assistant Athletic Director - Major Gifts is responsible for managing the Major Gifts Programs of the University of California, Berkeley Athletic Department. In this capacity, he/she directs a staff of major gift officers, who identify, cultivate and solicit donor prospects to the University, defined as individuals considered capable of giving $250,000 or more. In addition, he/she is personally responsible for coordinating all cultivation and solicitation of a portfolio of at least 125 major gift donors. | Job Responsibilities:
The Assistant Athletic Director - Major Gifts supervises major gift officers in managing the nation-wide campaign volunteer structure and in developing ongoing plans for the major gift programs. He/She evaluates results of programs and other efforts of the major gift officers as well as their success in meeting specific fundraising goals. The Assistant Athletic Director - Major Gifts is expected to play a key role in developing and implementing volunteer and staffing plans for the major gifts program.
The Assistant Athletic Director - Major Gifts is the senior development strategist on the major gifts team. In this capacity, he/she serves as a mentor and advisor to major gift officers in the athletic department in developing and implementing cultivation and solicitation plans for major donors to the university. The Assistant Athletic Director - Major Gifts works with the Associate Athletic Director, Development, Senior Staff, the leadership in the central development office, and the campus units to establish fundraising goals for the major gifts program. He/she devises funding strategies for new projects in consultation with campus administrators, volunteers and donors.
The Assistant Athletic Director - Major Gifts must develop original funding strategies tailored to the University's wealthiest and most important donors and prospects. He/She needs to take experience gained from earlier solicitations and apply it in new and original ways.

Job Description:
The Director of Operations - Olympic Sports will provide administrative support for assigned athletic programs & activities. In conjunction with the coaching staff, the incumbent will assist in the development and coordination of team operations, recruiting, youth camps, donor relations and coaching clinics. He/she will also assist in coordinating team travel arrangements and game day operations. | Job Responsibilities:
A. Travel 1. Assist in coordinating arrangements for team travel, including but not limited to hotel arrangements, ground transfer, practice facility approval, game credentials, itineraries, practice times, meals, etc. 2. Assist in coordinating/booking air travel with Department travel agent. 3. Make arrangements for recruiting travel for coaches (air, ground, and hotel). 4. Make arrangements for visiting students (prospective student-athletes). 5. Complete necessary paperwork, including itineraries, rooming lists, travel authorization forms and expense reports.
B. Team Administration 1. Complete forms, provide information, and serve as liaison to various Department staff members regarding student-athletes, recruits, and staff, including admissions, financial aid, and housing forms and applications. 2. Assist in coordinating donor activities with Development Office, including correspondence and acknowledgements. 3. Assist in coordinating marketing activities with Marketing Office when applicable. 4. Do purchasing, including obtaining price quotes and completion of paperwork. 5. C. Recruiting 1. Under coaches' direction, coordinate recruiting activities, including managing data base, mailings, and arrangements for official and unofficial visits, and recruiting gate list. 2. Create and maintain recruiting files. 3. Assist in organizing admissions process for recruits, obtain and track transcripts, test scores through evaluation process. 4. Have knowledge of all NCAA compliance regulations with regard to recruiting.
D. Game day management 1. Prepare game/meet information, game/meet schedule. 2. Contact opposing coaches for away game information. 3. Coordinate player and coach ticket request list for home and away contests. 4. Assist with stats and game management in home events, as needed. 5. Assist with video recording and editing, as needed
E. Special Events Special events include but are not limited to pre-season games, donor events, tournaments, and post-season play. 1. Negotiate, secure, and implement arrangements for special events including but not limited to, site inspections, travel, hotel arrangements, etc. 2. Secure ground and equipment transfer, practice facility approval, site credentials, itineraries, etc. 3. Recruit host families and instruct them on duties with team. 4. Arrange hospitality for teams and visiting dignitaries.

The Director of Volleyball Operations will provide administrative support for all volleyball program activities. The incumbent will assist the Recruiting Coordinator in all aspects of the recruiting process. In conjunction with the coaching staff, the incumbent will assist in the development and coordination of youth camps and coaching clinics. The incumbent will create a monthly newsletter to parents, alums, and campers. He/she will coordinate the travel arrangements for three assistant coaches. In addition, the incumbent will assist with annual special events (Golden Bear Classic, Alumni Event, Golf Tournament, Pac-10 Tournament, etc.). The incumbent will also assist in the coordination of team travel and will travel with the team as necessary. This is a contract position. | Job Responsibilities:
Assistant Budget Manager: Create, maintain and track annual budget. Travel: Coordinate and schedule all aspects of travel for team and staff to accommodate airline flights, hotel reservations, transportation to correspond with game schedule, team meals, and transportation of all team equipment; responsible for all monetary transactions for team and all staff while traveling. Summer Camps: Advanced skills camp assistant director; Advanced skills position camp assistant director; Team camp assistant director; Kids camp assistant director; Promote camp within the community; Solicit high school varsity, junior varsity, middle school and club teams for team camp. Equipment: Oversee and manage equipment ordering for team and staff through Nike; Oversee and operate all video equipment and technical devices used by the team. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise and direct team managers, and camp counselors. Daily Administration: Assist Head Coach and Assistant Coaches with day to day office operations; Liaison between the head coach and the Deputy Director of Athletics, Pac-10 conference, marketing department, ticket office, event management, sports information director, scheduling department, business office and travel department; Observe practice and film sessions during the season and individual workouts during the off-season; Coordinate and manage the teams training table schedule and menu with team Strength and Conditioning Coach and Nutritionist; and Assist with scheduling games, both home and away for upcoming season; draft and distribute for approval all game contracts. Recruiting: Responsible for coordinating and planning coaches travel during recruiting time; prepare all travel reports, approval forms, and budgetary allocations for three coaches. Game Day Responsibilities: Tournament coordinator for Golden Bear Invitational and Cal Molten Classic tournaments; Coordinate equipment set up for home and away pre-game practices, record and stat all volleyball matches using Data Volley Software; Report to the head coach, and assistants, after each competition with a breakdown of all Data Volley information; Coordinate all pre and post game receptions and the end of the season banquet. Assist marketing with all game day experience plans. Video: Responsible for all video and game tracking using Data Volley and Data Video software programs; Film team practice and games, analyze film; Responsible for all video scouting of opponent game film; Oversee, operate, and maintain all video equipment, computer software, and video equipment accessories for home and away games. Public Relations: Oversee the Spike Club (Women's Volleyball Booster Club) by organizing club functions and events to promote the women's basketball program; Plan and execute post-game receptions and end of the year team banquet.

Coordinate mailing of high school questionnaires to all prospective recruits. Maintain Student-Athlete database with recruit information. Compile clear and concise lists of prospects for coaching staff to concentrate recruiting efforts on. Provide coaching staff with evaluations of recruits' transcripts for UC eligibility purposes. Serve as liaison between Admissions office and coaching staff for all recruits. Coordinate continued correspondence with recruiting class. Plan and organize trips for recruits on official NCAA visits to the University of California. Contact faculty in the recruit's area of academic interest and arrange for meetings between the two. Provide answers for all NCAA and UC related eligibility questions to all recruits and coaching staff. Arrange for appropriate pairings of recruits and current team members once on official NCAA visits. Organize all activities that promote the University to all recruits. In addition, this position will act as the Commissioner of the Father/Son Camp and the Youth Day Summer Camps and will oversee the Team Camp.
